Meet this week’s Star Player
Every week the sun highlights one of the sixty-four archetypes in the Star Psychology family.
During that time we are all under their influence. So let’s meet the archetype that is influencing us all right now.
The Self-caring Nourisher
Learning to honour your own needs
Strengths & mission: the Self-Caring Nourisher naturally puts the needs of the community before their own. Their purpose is to nurture the healthy growth and development of the next generation, both intellectual and physical.
Challenges: when overwhelmed by their own sense of duty to the tribe, they can slip into a tug-of-war between selflessness and selfishness. They may murmur, I must recharge my batteries before I can help others again, yet guilt soon pushes them back into motion, lamenting their brief lapse in compassion.
Witnessing self: the witnessing self is here to help the Self-Caring Nourisher stay in the healthy middle ground, providing a sound diet, the company of good people, and stable finances. They need permission to invest their nourishing energy only where it will grow and flourish, steering clear of those who only take.
Reflecting on this energy:
How much of yourself do you give away, falling into the trap of seesawing between selflessness and selfishness. What do you need to do to be more boundaried about your caring?
